JEE Main 2027 registration dates

Session 1 applications are open. The official schedule is:

EventDate
Registration opens24 October 2026
Regular application and payment deadline22 November 2026, 11:50 pm IST
Late application window23–26 November 2026
Additional late fee₹500
Correction window27–29 November 2026, until 11:50 pm IST

Use the latest NTA notice if the schedule changes. Submit only one application; Session 1 applicants will use the same application number when separately applying for Session 2. [2]

Before you start: check your identity details

NTA advises applicants to use their own DigiLocker, JanParichay or e-Pramaan credentials through MeriPehchaan. Its 28 October advisory recommends DigiLocker re-KYC so the latest details are retrieved. Your name and date of birth must match your Class 10 certificate or marksheet. [3]

Keep the certificate beside you while filling the form. Compare the spelling of your name, initials and date of birth before moving ahead. If the retrieved information looks incorrect, resolve the discrepancy through the official process instead of guessing which version to enter.

Use a mobile number and email address belonging to you or your parent/guardian. NTA sends application communications to the registered contact details. [2]

Documents and upload sizes

The 2027 bulletin specifies these uploads: [4]

UploadFormatSize
Recent photographJPG/JPEG10–200 KB
SignatureJPG/JPEG10–100 KB
Class 10 certificate/marksheetPDF50–300 KB

A live photograph is also required. The uploaded colour photograph needs a white background and 80% face coverage, including ears, without a mask. Disability/UDID documents and a non-Indian passport apply to relevant candidates. Follow the portal’s instructions for additional uploads. [4]

Practical preparation: Create one folder for your application files. Open each file before uploading and check whether the text or image is clear. Compress a copy if needed, keeping the original available. Avoid uploading sensitive documents to unfamiliar file-conversion websites.

How to fill the JEE Main form 2027

Step 1: Open the official application link

Start at the NTA JEE Main website and select the 2027 Session 1 application link. [5]

Check the examination year and session on the page before entering information. Keep the official information bulletin open in another tab so you can check an unfamiliar field immediately.

Step 2: Register or continue your existing application

New applicants should complete registration with their personal information, contact details and address. Already registered applicants should sign in using their application number and password. [1]

Save your login details securely. If someone is helping you fill the form, remain present and review what they enter. Do not share your password or OTP in a public group.

Step 3: Complete the application fields

Enter personal and educational information, select the paper and examination cities, and upload the requested documents. [4]

Work through one section at a time. For educational entries, refer to your school records instead of relying on memory. Read the instructions beside each field, particularly where the form asks for a qualifying examination, category or eligibility detail.

Before choosing a paper, check the programme you intend to pursue. Paper 1 relates to B.E./B.Tech; Paper 2 covers architecture and planning programmes. [2]

Step 4: Check the upload preview

After selecting a file, inspect the preview where available. Check that the photograph is yours, the signature is visible and the certificate is readable.

A file can meet a size limit and still be unsuitable because it is blurred, cropped or the wrong document. File names alone are not a reliable check: open the document itself.

Step 5: Review before payment

Pause and compare the completed application with your documents. A useful review order is:

  • Name and date of birth.
  • Contact information.
  • Educational entries.
  • Category and supporting information.
  • Paper selection and city preferences.
  • Uploaded files.

Ask a parent or another trusted person to check spelling and numbers with you. Make corrections while the form permits them instead of planning to fix everything later.

Step 6: Pay the examination fee

Pay through the payment options displayed in the application. The amount depends on your selections. [1][4]

For one paper, per session, at centres in India, the bulletin lists General male ₹1,000; General female ₹800; Gen-EWS/OBC-NCL male ₹900 and female ₹800; SC/ST/PwD/PwBD and third-gender candidates ₹500. Multiple-paper and overseas fees differ; applicable processing charges/GST are extra. [4]

Check the amount and save the transaction reference. Avoid repeatedly pressing payment buttons while a transaction is processing.

Step 7: Download the confirmation page

Download and retain the confirmation page after payment. [1]

The bulletin states that it is generated after successful fee payment. If it is missing, contact the relevant bank/payment gateway to check the payment. [4]

Keep a clearly named copy of the confirmation page and payment record in your application folder. Check that you can open the saved files.
